Three Spraying Systems In One Sprayer 1) Shear Guard PlusTM - Air as the primary carrier of the crop protection product to the crop. The liquid and air mix to create an Air-Shear and controlled droplet sizes through Dial-A-Drop Technology. Nozzles spaced at 10". 2) Air Assist - The product is delivered through the conventional wet boom, but is accelerated to the ground by the powerful air curtain. 3) Conventional Wet Boom System - Traditional boom & nozzles to deliver crop protection products to the target. Triple nozzle bodies are spaced at 10" to enable spray widths in any increment of 10". See Combo-Jet Nozzles. |
What is the Trident 3-In-1 Spraying System?
The Trident 3-In-1 Spraying System with Dial-A-Drop Technology and Select-A-Nozzle Integration is actually three spraying methods available for a farmer to use in one boom system:
·
The first choice in method of application with the Trident 3-In-1
System is, of course, using the Shear Guard Plus Nozzles with Dial-A-Drop
Technology. This is the method by which the liquid is delivered through the
Shear Guard Plus Nozzle and is atomized and delivered to the crop in an air
blast. This method maximizes plant canopy penetration and surface area coverage
while at the same time allows for the lowest possible water carrier volumes.
The Dial-A-Drop Technology creates the optimum droplet sizes and number of
droplets for every type of application. Significant herbicide rate reductions
are realized (25-50%), and overall efficacy or level of control with all types
of crop protection products is enhanced.
·
However, if the farmer so chooses, he can use the conventional
nozzles, spaced in increments of 10" (click every second nozzle to
"off" position for 20" spacing), enabling him to utilize the
latest in conventional nozzle technology (although limiting the overall
benefits of potential rate reductions, decreased carrier volumes, and plant
canopy penetration and surface area coverage.) With the ability to spray
at 10" spacing, this becomes a very suitable method to apply liquid
fertilizer in drop/dribble applications. Conventional nozzles are also
suitable for dry, bare ground, pre-emergent applications.
·
Thirdly, the farmer can choose to use the conventional wet boom
for the liquid application while running an air blast through the adjacent
Shear Guard Plus Nozzles, thereby creating an air assist system, helping to
improve the drift management and plant canopy penetration of conventional
nozzles.
All of the Spray-Air field sprayers come equipped with the Trident 3-In-1 Spraying System, featuring Dial-A-Drop Technology. However, the Trident II Boom with Dial-A-Drop Technology is the suspended boom for the Trident and Advantage series field sprayers and is available to mount on leading self-propelled high-clearance sprayers. The Trident II Boom System features the 3-In-1 Spraying System with Dial-A-Drop Technology and also features Select-A-Nozzle Integration and the innovative Hydra-Glide Boom Suspension.
The boom is a solid steel trussed assembly that carries the 6" diameter aluminum air delivery tubes and the Trident II Select-A-Nozzle pluming circuit. The plumbing is unique in that the wet boom carries the liquid to the 10" spaced triple nozzle bodies, that in turn are connected via single, independent liquid feed lines to the adjacent Shear Guard Plus Nozzles, enabling the removal of the previous check ball and strainer assemblies. This leaves two remaining openings on the triple bodies open for the use of two different types of conventional nozzles. This Select-A-Nozzle Integration is a feature found only on the Trident II Boom assembly. |
